Steven Miller joined Sourcing Insights in 2017 as the CEO and Co-Founder. He is a seasoned procurement executive with over 40 years of experience working in the manufacturing industry. Previously, Steve was the Vice President and General Manager for the publicly traded Wabash National Corporation, a leading manufacturer of semi-trailers and liquid transportation systems.
Prior to his work at Wabash National Corporation, Steve assumed the position of Vice President for Global Supply Chain at Wabash Technologies, a global manufacturer of automotive sensors and cables. He’s also held several roles at Cummins Engine Company, spanning 20 years. In his early career, Steve led a new product introduction team responsible for $300M in capital investments for a new engine platform.
Perhaps one of his most noteworthy professional accomplishments is IPC, his second industrial purchasing consortium, which grew to the annual purchasing power of over $4 billion and was recognized among the Top 50 “Pros to Know” in purchasing twice.
Throughout his distinguished career, Steve led global procurement strategies, business startup and growth initiatives, acquisitions, supply chain management, engineering, and capital equipment procurement. He’s also earned multiple certifications in Project Management, New Product Introduction, and Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt.
Steve is the author of several supply chain publications, including “Making the Grade” on supplier performance measurement and sustainability. He’s also served on the Conference Leadership Board of Directors for the Institute of Supply Management since 2015.
